Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Fulham striker Carlos Vinicius is now set to stay at the club following late interest from Turkish club Trabzonspor.
A report from the Evening Standard has suggested that the 28-year-old is expected to remain at Craven Cottage.
It’s hard to argue that this summer’s transfer window has been a complete success for Fulham.
Keeping hold of Joao Palhinha after some very late interest from Bayern Munich is a positive even if the player is unlikely to be happy about missing out on the transfer.
Alex Iwobi is a sensible late addition, capable of playing in midfield or out on the wing.
However, Fode Ballo-Toure isn’t a signing that will inspire a huge amount of excitement among the fanbase.
The glaring issue with this summer’s business is not replacing Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Marco Silva’s side were linked with centre-forwards such as Niclas Fullkrug and Pedro but only Raul Jimenez arrived.
Fulham striker Carlos Vinicius is now set to stay at the club despite not starting once this season.
He’s either falling down the pecking order at the club or recent speculation meant Silva decided to leave him out of the side.
Vinicius set to stay at Fulham
The report from the Evening Standard suggests the Brazilian striker isn’t expected to leave Fulham despite interest from Trabzonspor.
They suggest that other reports thought he was close to securing a loan move but that doesn’t appear to be accurate.
The lack of other forward options in the Fulham squad haven’t increased Vinicius’s playing time yet.
Raul Jimenez has started every league game this season, with Vinicius an unused substitute in every competitive match so far.
Even Rodrigo Muniz was given the nod ahead of him in Fulham’s Carabao Cup penalty shootout victory over Tottenham.
It’s easy to see why Fulham want Vinicius to stay after failing to bring in another striker after Mitrovic’s departure.
There are many even questioning the decision to allow Jay Stansfield to join Birmingham City in the Championship.
He’s currently got more goals than all of Fulham’s other strikers combined with Jimenez still seeking to break his scoring duck.
