Fulham now make proposal to sign 23-year-old Argentinian, club demanding £8.5m

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Fulham have now reportedly made a proposal to sign Brazilian midfielder Fausto Vera.

That’s according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, who believe Fulham aren’t the only European side interested in the 23-year-old.

Fulham have started to make their moves in the transfer market ahead of the start of the Premier League.

Willian returns to Craven Cottage for another season after his contract expired in the summer.

Despite attempts from Nottingham Forest to sign him, he chose to return to West London.

The first new signing of the summer was Raul Jimenez, signed for a £5.5m fee from league rivals Wolves.

He was closely followed by Calvin Bassey, who provides more competition in defence with Tosin Adarabioyo’s future in doubt.

It means that the only position Fulham have yet to make a signing is in midfield.

Corinthians star Fausto Vera could be the man Fulham go for to strengthen that area and a proposal has now been made.

The Argentinian international would offer some competition for the likes of Joao Palhinha and Sasa Lukic.

Given the Portuguese star’s future isn’t certain either, it’s not a bad idea for Fulham to potentially line up a replacement.

Fulham make proposal for Vera

The report from Corriere dello Sport suggests that Lazio and Fiorentina are both interested in Vera.

However, they go on to suggest that Fulham are the latest player to make a proposal for Vera.

Corinthians want £8.5m for the Argentinian who they note is known for his through balls and tackling.

Vera was born in Hurlingham which may be familiar to some Fulham fans.

However, instead of the exclusive club on the other side of the Thames to Craven Cottage, Vera instead comes from the suburb of Buenos Aires with the same name.

Vera was signed by Corinthians after breaking through to Argentinos Juniors’ first team as a teenager.

The 23-year-old reads the game well out of possession and keeps things simple when on the ball.

That isn’t to say he doesn’t have great vision, but it’s not the reason he’s in the team in Brazil.

A proposal from Fulham might be of interest to Vera and his time in Brazil means he’ll speak at least basic Portuguese.

That’ll come in handy if he does arrive at Craven Cottage given the growing number of players in the squad who speak the language.
