Fulham now have serious interest in £20m USA international

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Fulham now have a real interest in USA international Yunus Musah this summer.

That’s according to journalist Dean Jones, who was speaking to Give Me Sport about the 20-year-old.

Fulham are looking forward to another season in the top flight after finally avoiding relegation from the Premier League.

In fact, Marco Silva did a phenomenal job and in reality, relegation was never really a possibility last season.

However, the club will know they need to start acting in the transfer market to avoid being dragged into that battle.

They’ve yet to make their first signing, although the links to new players are slowly starting to increase.

Defender Sergino Dest was now been suggested as a possible incoming at Craven Cottage.

Another American in Yunus Musah is now also of interest to Fulham this summer.

It would be a real coup if Silva convinced the Valencia midfielder to join the club considering AC Milan are also interested.

Fulham have interest in Musah

Speaking about the 20-year-old’s future, Jones said: “Yunus Musah was expected to close a deal with AC Milan and the contacts around that deal with Valencia are not in doubt.

“But nothing has been finalised and, at a time when Milan interest focused on tying up Pulisic, it might have opened the door for Fulham to show Musah a path to the Premier League.

“Fulham have long-standing ties to the US and already have Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson in the squad.

“Their interest in Musah is real and, over the past couple of days, a £20million deal has started to turn from a fantasy towards something a bit more realistic.

“He’s a wonderful player, still so young too, and this would be a really clever signing if they can pull it off.

“They can’t give him European football and that’s one downside of any offer from his point of view, as he really wants to head in that direction.

“But Fulham have other positives and a Milan misstep here has opened the door.”

The interest in Musah comes from Fulham needing established competition for Harrison Reed.

Reed had a fantastic season alongside Joao Palhinha but doesn’t really have a direct rival within the squad.

Sasa Lukic and Tom Cairney can both play that role but prefer either playing in a deeper or more advanced position.

Musah would be a fantastic option as a box-to-box player in the middle of the park.

He’s already won 24 senior caps despite still being eligible for the Under-21s for another year.
