Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Fulham winger Neeskens Kebano has turned down a contract offer from the club after his current deal expired this week.
A report from The Athletic has outlined some of the players who could depart Craven Cottage this summer.
It could end up being a big summer of change down by The Thames.
Fulham’s fantastic return to the Premier League should fill fans with plenty of hope.
However, there’s already speculation surrounding manager Marco Silva and star player Joao Palhinha going into pre-season.
The squad is likely to change a fair amount before the opening game away to Everton.
Fulham will want to move on the likes of Anthony Knockaert, Ivan Cavaleiro, Terence Kongolo and Kevin Mbabu.
They’ll also be disappointed that Willian turned down signing a new deal after his one-year contract expired.
Another player with an uncertain future at Fulham after rejecting a contract is Neeskens Kebano.
The DR Congo international winger missed much of last season with a serious injury.
However, he’s a popular member of the squad and Silva seems keen to keep him at the club.
Kebano turns down Fulham contract
The report from The Athletic states that, ‘As it stands, agreements are yet to be reached for Neeskens Kebano or Willian for example, both of whom have turned down initial offers.’
The £30,000-a-week winger has had a mixed time at Fulham.
In the Championship, Kebano has been key to three promotion campaigns.
However, he’s also seen his minutes in the Premier League reduced each time the club were promoted.
He even spent six months on loan at Middlesbrough when Scott Parker was in charge.
Silva will have been bitterly disappointed that he only had Kebano available for half a season last year after such a good campaign the year before.
He provided 15 goal contributions as Fulham returned to the top flight as champions.
Now, Kebano might be considering life after Fulham having turned down a new contract.
It might also be a negotiating tactic, but at this moment he’s a free agent.
Given the club haven’t made any public announcement that he’s leaving, there will be hope that they can convince him to extend his time at the Cottage.
