Fulham have joined the race to sign Blackburn Rovers forward Sammie Szmodics having scouted him last week.
That is according to The Sun, who claim that Fulham are now keen to bring Szmodics to West London.
It’s stated that scout Brian Talbot has scouted Szmodics ahead of a potential summer move.
Brentford are understood to be interested too but Fulham are now looking into a swoop.
Who is Sammie Szmodics?
Szmodics hails from Colchester and came up in the Colchester United youth ranks.
The 28-year-old racked up 38 goals in 163 appearances for Colchester before landing a 2019 move to Bristol City.
That switch did not work out at all as Szmodics made just four appearances before being sent on loan to Peterborough United.
That move was was turned permanent and Szomdics went on to smash 23 goals in 86 games.
Blackburn Rovers pounced with a £1.8million move in 2022 and seven goals in his first season at Ewood Park was a decent return.
Szmodics has absolutely exploded this season though, racking up 21 league goals and 27 across all competitions.

Eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland and Hungary at international level, Szmodics has now been called up for Ireland by John O’Shea.
Szmodics is in the form of his life this season and Fulham could offer him a move to the Premier League.
Hailed as an ‘exceptional’ player by Rovers boss John Eustace, Szmodics may be ready to make the step up to the top flight.
Fulham may see Szmodics as striking competition for Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez moving forward, or possibly as a number 10 behind the striker.
It’s unclear just how much Rovers would want for Szmodics, but he will surely be cheaper than pursuing a permanent deal for loanee Armando Broja this summer.
