Premier League club now interested in appointing Fulham’s Marco Silva this summer

West Ham United are now interested in Fulham boss Marco Silva as they consider parting ways with David Moyes.

The Hammers won the Europa Conference League last year with Moyes leading them to glory.

Football can be a ‘what have you done for me lately?’ industry though and Moyes is certainly experiencing that.

Six games without a win and three defeats in a row at the start of 2024 left Moyes under huge pressure.

Two successive victories have eased that pressure a little but Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season.

Many expect Moyes to move on and West Ham are already being linked with other manager – including Fulham’s Marco Silva.

Marco Silva linked with West Ham

Give Me Sport now claim that Fulham boss Silva ‘could emerge as a candidate’ for the West Ham job this summer.

It’s claimed that the Hammers admire Silva and could move for him should Moyes move on.

Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, Lille’s Paulo Fonseca and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot are considered to be alongside Silva in West Ham’s thinking.

These claims may not be a huge surprise to Fulham supporters.

Reports from the Daily Mail last year suggested that West Ham liked Silva and wanted him as a potential Moyes successor.

Here we are again and Fulham will be on red alert for a potential approach from the Hammers.

We can only admire how Silva has rebuilt his reputation at Craven Cottage.

Silva spent 18 months out of management after leaving Everton in December 2019, and some wondered if he would ever land another Premier League job.

Silva instead took a bold step, dropping down to the Championship with Fulham after Scott Parker’s move to Bournemouth.

After securing promotion, Silva has established Fulham as a solid Premier League club once again and brought some quality players in along the way.

We would hate to see Silva leave the club and actually think it would take something pretty special to tempt him away from Fulham.

Whether West Ham is that kind of move remains to be seen but seeing Silva leave for the Hammers would certainly sting after three fine years at the Cottage.
