Fulham’s former Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo has celebrated beating Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Adarabioyo came back into the side on Saturday as Marco Silva switched up his back line.

Seeking an improvement after a 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa, Silva certainly got what he wanted.

Calvin Bassey – Adarabioyo’s centre back partner – smashed Fulham ahead before a Harry Maguire equaliser appeared to have spoiled the fun.

Fulham hit back though as Alex Iwobi took in an Adama Traore pass and left Andre Onana rooted to the spot as he found the net to secure a 2-1 victory.

Fulham fans everywhere have been on cloud nine since that victory, with Adarabioyo no doubt joining in given his Manchester City ties…

Tosin Adarabioyo celebrates

Adarabioyo hails from Manchester and started out with Fletcher Moss Rangers – a club who have produced some significant talent.

Danny Welbeck, Wes Brown, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford all passed through Fletcher Moss Rangers and became England internationals.

Yet whilst all of those players went to United, Adarabioyo chose City and joined the club at the age of just five, snubbing United and Blackburn Rovers.

The 6t 5in defender spent 17 years in the City ranks, progressing through to the first-team picture and spending time on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn.

Fulham pounced with a permanent move in 2020 and Adarabioyo has developed into a solid Premier League defender.

Adarabioyo took to social media to state ‘W in Manny’, celebrating a return to his hometown and a win over his old rivals.

Teammates Bassey and Harrison Reed showed their support for Adarabioyo with Fulham celebrating a memorable victory.

Let’s hope Adarabioyo has a few more memorable wins in the locker with Fulham, given fears over his future.

Adarabioyo is out of contract this summer and with Premier League clubs no doubt interested, Fulham will be desperate to get him tied down for years to come.
