Fulham are struggling to score goals this season.
The Whites have scored just 13 goals in 13 games this season, and that tally would be even more worrying if it weren’t for two questionable penalties against Wolves on Monday.
Of course, whenever any team is failing to score goals, the finger is pointed at the centre-forward, and speaking on Premier League Productions, Jermaine Beckford has made the point that Raul Jimenez isn’t the answer for Fulham.

Jimenez isn’t the answer
Beckford gave his verdict on the £5m man.
“As good as an all-round centre-forward Jimenez is, he’s not the answer. If you look at his record and average it out, it’s borderline nine, 10, 11 goals on average throughout his career. I’m not taking anything away from him because as an all-round player he’s very good, but you need a goalscorer, he’s not the answer unfortunately. That leaves an opportunity for Vinicius who needs minutes, he needs to play and he hasn’t been afforded that,” Beckford said.
Ridiculous
Beckford isn’t saying anything that we don’t already know here, and the fact that anyone at Fulham would’ve thought Jimenez was the answer was ridiculous.
Just look at his record. He’s scored one Premier League goal in 18 months.
There’s a reason he cost just £6m, he wasn’t wanted at Wolves, and if you’re looking to replace a £45m asset in the shape of Aleksandar Mitrovic, you need to spend a bit more.
We’d love to see Jimenez come good at Fulham, but, in all honesty, it’s hard to see how he will ever get to the point where he could be described as a success at Craven Cottage.
Jimenez has been a complete and utter flop so far, and Fulham undoubtedly need to go and get a new striker in January.
