Pundit Jamie O’Hara was quick to praise Fulham stars Tom Cairney and Willian after their performances against Wolves yesterday.

O’Hara was speaking on TalkSPORT (28/11 8:58am) after the Whites dramatic 3-2 victory over Gary O’Neil’s side at Craven Cottage.

It was very much a game of two halves last night, with Fulham taking the lead through Alex Iwobi.

It was his first league goal for the club and he put in an outstanding performance once again.

Matheus Cunha equalised 15 minutes later and the visitors dominated the rest of the first half.

However, as has been the case so often this season, Fulham came out stronger in the second half.

It ended up being a tale of three penalties, with Tom Cairney, Hwang Hee-chan and Harry Wilson all adjudged to have been fouled in the opposition box.

Cairney was sensational for Fulham and was awarded the player of the match award and Jamie O’Hara thought alongside Willian they made the difference last night.

The 32-year-old was singled out for praise by Marco Silva after the match following his reintroduction to the starting line-up.

He linked up with his Brazilian teammate brilliantly and it’s hard to see him being dropped against Liverpool at the weekend.

O’Hara praises Cairney and Willian after Fulham win

Speaking about last night’s game, O’Hara said: “Fulham are a good side. Willian for me is still a top player, I thought last night he was a joy to watch.

“I thought Tom Cairney was different class as well, he showed that he has still got it. Massive win.”

The win last night draws Fulham level on points with Wolves and only one point behind rivals Chelsea in 10th.

While their position in the league table isn’t particularly important at this stage of the season, opening up a gap to the bottom three is the key.

O’Hara may have been impressed by Cairney and Willian, but Fulham need the whole squad to reach those levels more regularly during the busy Christmas period.

With home games against Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Burnley on the horizon, nine points in those games will go a long way to ensuring the club’s survival.

Any points away to Liverpool and Newcastle in that time will be a bonus while the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Everton will be in the back of everyone’s minds right now.
