Fulham are now interested in signing Roma forward Tammy Abraham in January as he looks to return to the Premier League.

A report from Italian outlet Calciomercato suggests several English sides are lining up a move for the 26-year-old.

It’s no secret that Fulham are struggling in front of goal right now.

Marco Silva’s side have an identical record in the Premier League to last season but the mood around the club isn’t as positive.

Fulham have scored just nine league goals with Joao Palhinha bailing his side out against Brighton on Sunday.

The Portuguese destroyer and Bobby De Cordova-Reid are the only players to have found the back of the net more than once in the league this season.

Only Carlos Vinicius out of Fulham’s three recognised strikers has scored this season with Raul Jimenez struggling since his summer move from Wolves.

After selling Aleksandar Mitrovic for £50m, Silva wasn’t given those funds to bring in a replacement.

However, Fulham are now interested in Tammy Abraham to solve their issues in front of goal.

The 26-year-old is fantastic on his day, scoring 17 goals in Serie A during his first season in Italy.

There’s a clear downside to the move though, with Abraham still recovering from a serious ACL injury that has ruled him out for the entirety of this season.

Fulham interested in Roma striker Abraham

The report from Calciomercato suggests that Fulham want to sign Abraham in January and Roma are keen to offload him.

However, Brentford, Aston Villa and West Ham are also named as potential suitors.

The Bees could lose Ivan Toney in January when his ban ends and will be desperate to sign a striker while West Ham could also do with a regular goalscorer.

Silva might ask Willian about Tammy Abraham considering the pair played together at Chelsea.

During their time together, the Brazilian was asked about the young striker and said: “He can become one of the best strikers in the world.

“He’s still only 22 and he has everything to become one of the best strikers in the world.”

Fulham should be more than interested in signing a striker in January and Abraham is undoubtedly talented.

He has shone at Craven Cottage before, with a particularly impressive performance for Bristol City sticking in the memory.

However, Fulham will want assurances on his fitness before splashing the cash on the England international.

He will have plenty to prove if he does arrive at Fulham, especially with a European Championships on the horizon next summer.
