Pundit Paul Merson has shared his prediction for Fulham’s visit to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League tomorrow evening.

Merson was speaking to Sportskeeda ahead of both teams’ return to action following the second international break of the season.

Fulham currently have a very unique bragging right over Spurs going into tomorrow’s match.

Their Carabao Cup victory over Tottenham is the only defeat Ange Postecoglou has suffered since taking over the club in the summer after leaving Celtic.

Spurs went into this weekend top of the Premier League ahead of north London rivals Arsenal on goal difference.

Fulham on the other hand have seen Wolves jump ahead of them following their win over Bournemouth and rivals Brentford close the gap after their victory over Burnley.

It means Marco Silva’s side are still closer to the Europa League places than the relegation zone albeit only five teams separate them from the bottom three.

Paul Merson has shared how he thinks Fulham will fare against Tottenham in the final match of the Premier League weekend and doesn’t offer the Whites much hope.

In fact, at one point he even forgets who Ange Postecoglou’s side are coming up against.

Merson predicts Tottenham vs. Fulham

Asked who will come out on top at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Merson said: “They’re [Tottenham] playing with a lot of confidence and have a very good manager.

“I would call this a very Spursy game, like the Luton match – I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost. These are big games for Tottenham because they’ll define how competitive they’re going to be this season.

“I don’t consider Tottenham title contenders at the moment. I’m not just saying that because it’s Tottenham – their squad is too small and they have a long way to go.

“I do expect them to beat Luton [Fulham] comfortably this weekend.”

While Merson wouldn’t be surprised if Tottenham lost, he still expects Fulham to suffer a 3-1 defeat tomorrow evening.

Fulham will want to continue their good form from before the international break tomorrow but it’ll be a tough ask.

But if Tom Cairney is once again shushing his teammates after putting his side ahead then the away end will be bouncing.

I was there for the Whites’s only other visit to Tottenham’s new ground and witnessed Aleksandar Mitrovic cause some late panic and Kevin Mbabu end his Fulham career before it even began.

A better outcome tomorrow would be very welcome indeed.
