Fulham have sent young winger Martin Godo on loan to Wigan Athletic where he’s teamed up with former defender Steven Sessegnon.
The full-back took to social media to celebrate the 20-year-old after he scored his first league goal of the season.
Fulham’s academy has produced some absolute gems in recent years.
The likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho have all moved on in recent years to some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
However, frustration continues to grow among the fanbase that these players don’t fulfil their potential while at Craven Cottage.
Carvalho was sensational in the Championship but refused to extend his contract and has suffered as a result of joining Liverpool.
Elliott made his senior debut at 15 but was another who escaped before Fulham could demand a huge fee for someone who looks likely to go on and play for England.
The club need to improve that strategy and Martial Godo looks set to be the beneficiary of that.

Godo has joined Wigan Athletic on loan and teamed up with Steven Sessegnon who has permanently joined the Latics this season.
He’ll have plenty of advice for the winger on what to do having made the jump from Fulham’s academy to the first team.
Sessegnon sends message to Godo after Wigan goal
Posting a video of Godo scoring at the weekend, Sessegnon replied: “The boiii.”
After signing from Margate FC last summer, Godo made his senior debut during that fateful League Cup defeat to Crawley Town.
He was the star of the show for Fulham’s Under-21s this season, winning the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for August after scoring five goals in three matches.
Joining Sessegnon at Wigan on deadline day makes complete sense for Godo as first-team opportunities at Fulham are going to be hard to come by this season.

Another player who may wish he was in the same position is Luke Harris.
He was supposed to follow in Jay Stansfield’s footsteps at join Exeter on loan, but concerns about Fulham’s squad depth meant the move was blocked.
Godo now needs to play as many minutes as possible at Wigan before returning to the Cottage to make his case that he should be in the first team next season.
