Midfielder Joao Palhinha has taken over from Aleksandar Mitrovic as Fulham’s highest earner this season.
A report from The Athletic has shared more details on who is earning the most money from each team in England’s top flight.
It should come as no surprise that the ‘special’ midfielder is now the best-paid player at Fulham.

Joao Palhinha was initially signed on a five-year deal from Sporting CP last summer and quickly established himself as one of the league’s best midfielders.
Unsurprisingly, his performances attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Liverpool were considering a move for Palhinha before Bayern Munich made a late effort to sign him.
Neither move ended up happening despite the Portuguese travelling to Germany on deadline day.
Out of nowhere, Fulham announced that the 28-year-old and Harrison Reed had signed new contracts at the club.
Palhinha’s new contract extends his time at Fulham by an extra year and makes him the team’s highest earner.
It will be interesting to see just how much longer his new deal convinces him to spend at Craven Cottage.
Palhinha now Fulham’s highest earner
The report from The Athletic suggests that Mitrovic was on at least £100,000 a week at Fulham before departing for Al Hilal.
With the Serbian striker now gone, Palhinha has become Fulham’s highest earner helped by the new deal he very recently signed.
There would have been concerns that when Palhinha’s move to Bayern broke down, he wouldn’t be quite as committed as was before.
However, he’s been just as motivated as ever in his most recent performances.
He was very unfortunate to pick up a booking against Crystal Palace but it was a return to the norm for the Portuguese.

Palhinha is very unlikely to spend the rest of his career patrolling the turf at Craven Cottage.
He’s one of the best players to put on a Fulham shirt for some time and deserves his chance to play at the very highest level.
It seems unlikely he’ll be hearing the Champions League anthem in West London any time soon.
Until that day, Palhinha will have to continue putting in performances that justify him being Fulham’s highest earner.
