Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Fulham and Chelsea aren’t the best of friends on the pitch, but they’re more than happy to do business off of it.
Numerous players have crossed this divide in recent years, with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Lucas Piazon and now, we could be set to see another couple of players make this move.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly been closing in on a move to Fulham for an absolute age now, while according to Dean Jones, speaking on The Done Deal Show, Fulham are also having a look at Armando Broja.
The Albanian striker made a real name for himself a couple of years ago during his loan spell with Southampton, and now, he could be set for a switch to Fulham as the Whites prepare to lose Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Broja an option
Jones shared what he knows about Fulham potentially moving for Broja.
“I think we will get a good gauge on it on whether or not Broja will be able to speak to other clubs or not. That would be the one to make way. Right now with Nicolas Jackson you’re thinking Broja is the main backup and alternate option there. West Ham have had an eye on Broja for a while and Fulham are having tentative steps around looking at the Broja perspective,” Jones said.
Risky
A year or two ago you would have said that Broja would have been an utterly perfect replacement for Mitrovic, but now, it would be a risk.
Broja picked up a season-ending knee injury this time last year, and we’re yet to see what kind of level he’s at after picking up that problem.
Fulham can’t afford to be signing a player who isn’t guaranteed to be at his best from day one, and, sadly, Broja isn’t a player that is easy to rely upon at the moment.
