Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Fabio Carvalho was keeping one eye on his old club Fulham and in particular new signing Calvin Bassey.
The club posted on Instagram after Bassey scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim yesterday.
Marco Silva’s side took to the Craven Cottage pitch for the first time this season.
They travel to Goodison Park next weekend to face Everton and faced Bundesliga side Hoffenheim as part of their final preparations.
Silva handed starts to all three new Fulham signings yesterday.
Fans would have been very familiar with Willian after he rejoined the club following his contract expiring in the summer.
He’s once again being linked with a move away from West London just days after agreeing a new deal.
The Brazilian is the latest Fulham player to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
Raul Jimenez and Calvin Bassey also started the game and both got off the mark for their new club.
Fabio Carvalho was particularly impressed with Bassey who received a standing ovation when leaving the pitch yesterday.
The £19m defender has already made a brilliant impression and will want to continue that next week when the competitive games begin.
Carvalho impressed with Fulham signing Bassey
Posting on their Instagram, Fulham posted the caption: “Cold Calvin,” alongside a picture of Bassey celebrating with Bobby De Cordova-Reid.
Carvalho, responding to Fulham’s caption, posted an ice cube emoji and was clearly delighted for the Nigerian international.
On his personal Instagram, Bassey also received praise from Arsenal new boy Jurrien Timber, Brighton target Mohammed Kudus and Everton winger Alex Iwobi.
The connection between Fulham and Everton doesn’t end there ahead of next weekend’s opening Premier League tie.
The Whites have also been linked with Demarai Gray, who is no longer training with Sean Dyche’s squad ahead of a proposed move.
He will know De Cordova-Reid well from their time playing together with Jamaica.
Some Fulham fans will be glad to see Carvalho is still fond of the club and hoping Bassey succeeds.
Many will wonder just how well he would be playing right now had he not switched regular game time at the Cottage for a spot on the bench at Liverpool.
He’s now got the chance to improve in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig on a season-long loan deal.
