Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
According to The Standard, Fulham want to sign Joshua Brenet from FC Twente.
If that is a name that rings a bell, then you’re right to think you’ve heard this name before.
Brenet has been linked with Fulham over the past two transfer windows, and it’s clear that he’s a name that has been on Tony Khan’s radar for some time.
Brenet is apparently unhappy at Twente and a clause in his contract will now allow him to leave for £1m.
The 29-year-old would become the second Dutch full-back in this Fulham side, and you have to imagine that he would indeed be an understudy for Kenny Tete if he were to arrive at Craven Cottage.
Fulham, of course, need some reinforcement at full-back. Tete is the only player in the squad who can currently play that role, unless you’re counting Bobby Decordova-Reid, and Brenet would add some much needed depth in that position.
At just £1m, Brenet would not take too much away from Fulham’s FFP calculations heading into the summer, and in all honesty, Fulham need to add as many numbers as they can.
The Whites are running low on players at the moment.
With the likes of Manor Solomon, Layvin Kurzawa, Shane Duffy, Cedric Soares and Dan James all departing after their loan spells, Fulham are really short, but Fulham have been in this situation before.
Indeed, it seems as though Fulham find themselves short at the start of every summer, but, somehow, they always manage to figure things out by the end of summer.
Brenet would be a welcomed addition to this thin squad, but one thing is for sure, he mustn’t be the only player to join in this transfer window.
