Report: Newcastle United want to sign £2m Fulham player

Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.

Fulham aren’t being linked with many new signings at the moment, but their star players are being linked with moves away from Craven Cottage at a frightening rate.

Indeed, Joao Palhinha has been linked to West Ham, Tosin has been linked to Arsenal, and now, according to The Chronicle, Newcastle United want to sign Antonee Robinson.

The Magpies are in the market for a new left-back this summer.

The Tyneside club have weighed up moves for the likes of Marc Cucurella and Kieran Tierney as of late, and now, they’re looking at Robinson.

The American has been one of Fulham’s star performers over the past 12 months, but sadly, the Whites are vulnerable to losing the defender this summer.

Indeed, Robinson is about to enter the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage, and he may well have ambitions of playing in the Champions League.

Robinson has certainly earned the right to make a move, and regardless of what happens, he’ll surely be remembered as one of the great Fulham signings in recent memory.

Brought in for just £2m, Robinson was key in the 2021/22 promotion campaign, while he was almost unpassable at left-back last season as he locked down the likes of Mohamed Salah with ease.

Sadly, Robinson’s departure would leave Marco Silva’s side incredibly light on the ground at left-back. Layvin Kurzawa’s loan spell is now over, and aside from Robinson, Fulham don’t have any other senior left-backs at the club.

Tim Ream has done a job there on occasion, but given the lack of depth at centre-half, it’s hard to imagine the 36-year-old shifting across on a permanent basis, especially at that sort of age.

Sadly, if Newcastle come calling it will be difficult for Robinson to turn down a move to St James’ Park.
