Why Chelsea FINALLY Turned A Corner.
Fabio Carvalho could be returning to Fulham this summer.
That is according to The Athletic who report that a temporary exit from Liverpool could be on the cards for the young midfielder and that he may well end up back at Craven Cottage.
Apparently, Fulham are seen as a viable destination for Carvalho, and this is very interesting to say the least.
As many will remember, it was just one year ago that Carvalho spectacularly ditched Fulham after promotion from the Championship, leaving for Liverpool, but one year and one underwhelming season later, he could be on his way back.
We already know that Carvalho suits Marco Silva’s system to a tee, he was arguably Fulham’s second-best player in the Championship, and with Andreas Pereira likely to be out until the autumn with an injury, he could be a great option in that number 10 position.
Of course, Fulham are likely to receive fierce competition in this race as RB Leipzig have been strongly linked with Carvalho too.
Interestingly, this completely goes against what Tony Khan said a few years ago in an interview with The Times when asked about a potential loan return for Ryan Sessegnon, when he was adamant that he ‘wasn’t in the business of developing other team’s players’.
To be fair, that stance never seemed to make much sense as Fulham have happily loaned in a plethora of players since then only to later return them to their parent clubs, and loan spells can work a treat for a team hoping to establish themselves back in the top flight.
Carvalho only left Fulham one year ago for £7m, but we may not have seen the last of the talented youngster at Craven Cottage just yet.
