According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Fulham are set to win the race to sign Ethan Horvath, despite recent links to Tottenham.

The American goalkeeper is reportedly set to join the Cottagers this summer, and it will be interesting to see what sort of role he plays.

It would take something special to displace Marek Rodak as the Whites’ number one, but as every Fulham fan ought to know by now, American goalkeepers are often absolutely brilliant.

If this is to be the Whites’ first signing of the summer, then it will be a welcomed one, especially considering that Marcus Bettinelli has just left the club after 15 years of service.

It’s often forgotten that Fabri is still on the books at Craven Cottage, but it’s hard to imagine that he’ll be sticking around for much longer if Horvath comes in to provide competition between the sticks.

Signing what is likely to be a backup goalkeeper isn’t the most exciting piece of business Fulham do this summer, but it is interesting to see that the ball may be about to start rolling, and that’s before the club have even appointed their new Director of Scouting, an appointment we’re all keenly waiting on.
