SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
Away from the circus surrounding the seemingly impending departure of Scott Parker at Fulham there is a season to prepare for.
Indeed, the 2021/22 Championship fixtures are out, and the opening day clash sees Fulham host Middlesbrough at Craven Cottage.
This won’t be an easy game, there’s no doubt about that. Playing against Neil Warnock side is never an enjoyable task, and over the years Warnock has enjoued great success against Fulham.
However, this time around, the Whites may have an ace up their sleeve.
Yes, Neeskens Kebano has spent the last six months at Boro, getting to know the team, the tactics and the players, and if he’s retained that information, he could be key in the Whites’ winning the tactical battle against Warnock’s side.
Let’s be honest, Boro won’t be better than Fulham on paper on the opening day. After all, the Whites’ squad is littered with Premier League talent, but one thing they’re likely to have is a better tactician at the helm, but if Kebano can share what he’s learnt while playing under Warnock with the incumbent Fulham boss, then that could be used to the London club’s advantage.
The same goes for Marcus Bettinelli, who spent last season at Boro, but with Bettinelli being a goalie, he may not have as clear an understanding of how the team plays as Kebano may have.
Whoever is manager on the opening day may want to have a detailed chat with Kebano about Middlesbrough and how they set up.
