SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
January Fulham target Josh King has been released by Everton after appearing just 11 times for the Toffees.
The Norway international was strongly linked with a move to Craven Cottage on deadline day, but he opted to move to Goodison Park instead, and it’s fair to say it was an ill-fated move.
Everton gave King a contract that lasted just six months, and while they could have offered him a new deal at the end of the season, they instead opted to release him.
King probably wishes he’d have signed for Fulham instead of Everton. He would likely have gotten more opportunities with the Whites, and who knows, he perhaps would have been handed a more long-term contract with the London outfit.
Fulham will feel as though they’ve had a lucky escape with King, but the reality is that he remains a talented striker who could have fired in a few goals in a Fulham side that was struggling for a striker.
King’s next move remains to be seen. He clearly has people at Fulham who rate him, but given the fact he was so adamant about getting a move out of the Championship in January, it’s hard to see the Whites re-igniting their interest in him.
