SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
According to a report by the Sheffield Star, Fulham have slapped a £10m price tag on Tom Cairney’s head.
The Fulham captain is reportedly a wanted man. Slavisa Jokanovic would reportedly relish the opportunity to work with the Scotland international at Bramall Lane, but the Star say that deal is unlikely.
The £10m price tag isn’t one that Fulham expect any team to match, with the hefty fee acting as a deterrent to any side that wants to come in for the Whites’ captain.
To be fair, we can understand why Fulham don’t expect anyone to take Cairney at £10m. He’s no spring chicken these days, and while he remains one of the best midfielders in the Championship on his day, his injury record makes him too much of a gamble for a number of clubs.
Of course, there is the chance that the Blades do take the bait, Jokanovic is a big fan of Cairney, and given the fact the Yorkshire club have parachute payments and a number of sellable assets means that they shouldn’t find cash hard to come by.
There are bound to be departures at Fulham after their relegation, but it’s hard to see Cairney being one of the players shipped out.
