SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
According to a report by The Sun, Fulham are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong.
The speedy striker has enjoyed the best season of his career, netting 28 goals in the Championship, and as you can imagine, that’s led to him being linked with some bigger clubs.
Fulham are amongst the sides keen on the hitman who will reportedly cost £25m.
Sadly though, it’s hard to see how Fulham are going to get this deal done.
£25m is a lot of money for a Premier League club, but it’s pretty much unheard of for a Championship side to splash this much cash on a striker.
Factor in that West Ham and Everton are also apparently interested and it’s easy to see why Fulham may not win the race for Armstrong’s signature.
Interestingly, Fulham moving for a new number nine, and especially one this expensive, would seem to suggest that Aleksandar Mitrovic’s days at Craven Cottage are numbered.
It’s great to see Fulham showing true ambition in the market upon their relegation, just as they did in 2014 when they signed Ross McCormack not long after they dropped into the Championship.
Whether or not this deal gets done or not remains to be seen, but with Premier League clubs circling, it’s hard to see why Armstrong would opt to join Fulham this summer.
