Well, promotion to the Premier League isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be.

Fulham’s rollercoaster ride being a yo-yo club going up and down from the Premier League is continuing, and the Whites will again play Championship football next season.

With the Whites building their squad around loan players this season, there are plenty of forgotten men who could be brought back into the fold next term, and we’re going to look at three who deserve a chance in the Championship next term.

Let’s start with the most obvious choice.

Alphonse Areola is heading back to PSG, and Fulham have a ready-made replacement at their fingertips.

Aside from one dodgy performance against Barnsley, Rodak was almost faultless during his last Championship campaign, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t once again be number one choice once the Whites return to the second-tier.

Aboubakar Kamara

For the second time in his Fulham career, Aboubakar Kamara was sent out on loan in January.

The attacker is a very hit and miss player, but what can’t be denied is the impact he can have on a game.

Granted, Kamara isn’t the most technically-gifted player, but luckily for him, the Championship isn’t a division brimming with technical excellence.

Kamara’s pace and versatility across the frontline should once again make him an asset in the Championship.

Anthony Knockaert

This one is bound to split opinions, but there’s still a player in there somewhere with Knockaert.

The Frenchman was once the Championship’s Player of the Year, and while he has been poor in his last two seasons with Fulham and Nottingham Forest, he’s still got bags of ability in his locker.

Aged just 29, Knockaert isn’t past his physical prime yet, and if Fulham can help him rediscover his confidence, they’ll have a real player on their hands.
