SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
According to Goal, Fulham are amongst the clubs keen on Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi.
The forward has spent this season out on loan in the Bundesliga with Union Berlin, and he’s had a decent spell out in Germany.
He’s not lit up the league, but a return of five goals in 20 Bundesliga matches doesn’t represent a poor return by any means, and with Fulham set to play in the Championship next season, Awoniyi could be a real asset for the Whites.
Bundesliga expert Christian Eckner has previously compared the striker to Erling Haaland, claiming that he’s good at making runs in behind and a good finisher.
“That’s a hard one to come up with a good comparison, I mean, in a way he reminds me of Erling Haaland with the runs he makes behind the line,” Eckner said.
“Of course, he’s nowhere near the level of Erling Haaland, but just his style is somewhat similar, and he’s a good, not great poacher inside the box, he’s a decent finisher at least.”
This sounds like exactly the type of player Fulham need, and with the striker reportedly available for just £8m, he could be a real bargain.
Unfortunately for the Whites, they’re not the only club in for Awoniyi as Goal report that at least seven clubs are keen on the striker, including West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and whole host of clubs from the Bundesliga.
