SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
Speaking on the Greatest Game Podcast, Wolves captain Conor Coady has named Aleksandar Mitrovic as one of the best strikers he’s ever faced.
The Englishman was caused all sorts of problems by Mitrovic back in the 2017/18 season as the Serbian constantly outmuscled him and created problems for Wolves.
As most Fulham fans will remember, the Whites won 2-0 that day, and Mitrovic scored the clinching goal.
“I remember playing in the Championship against Fulham, Mitrovic gave me a real tough game, a really, really tough game. He’s an animal, an absolute animal,” Coady said.
“I tried to get hold of him and I was on his back for half of the game, and I remember speaking to my Dad after that game and my Dad said ‘why are you fighting with him? Give him a yard because if he gets hold of you, he’ll beat you.’ And since then I’ve tried to learn, but he gave me a tough night that night when they beat us 2-0.”
Coady is a bona fide England international, so this is high praise for the Fulham striker.
We all know how good Mitrovic can be on his day, and the back end of 2017/18 represented the Serbian in his pomp.
Sadly, we haven’t seen that side of his game all that often this season, and we can only hope that he’s able to rediscover his best form in the near future.
