Speaking to the Mail, Slavisa Jokanovic has backed Fulham to beat the drop in the Premier League, praising Scott Parker for the job he’s doing at Craven Cottage.

Jokanovic led Fulham to a memorable promotion campaign in 2017/18, which included a history 23-game unbeaten run, and while he didn’t manage to continue that sort of form in the Premier League, he’s backing Parker to keep Fulham up.

“David Copperfield didn’t just appear in the club and perform magic. Fulham recognised that Scott was in some sort of trouble but they took a decision to trust in his good work. That work has put them in the position they are in now. I believe they can survive,” Jokanovic said.

“They are a team with great spirit. Scott has chosen the right way to play for survival and this year Fulham are a tough opponent for all clubs. On Saturday, Manchester City will have more quality than other teams but Fulham have enough games left to continue fighting.”

The Serbian of course knows what Parker is about as a coach, the pair worked together at Fulham before Jokanovic’s untimely sacking.

Jokanovic knows the qualities that this Fulham team has, some of the players worked with him in his promotion side, and we can only hope he’s right about the Whites’ survival chances.

As Jokanovic says, the game against Man City is bound to be difficult, but after beating Liverpool last week, it’s hard to write off any possibility in this one.
