SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
Fulham fans on social media are absolutely furious after the IFAB’s announcement on Friday, and with good reason.
The regulatory authority has changed the rules around handball meaning that accidental contact with an arm leading to a goal will no longer be penalised, and as you can imagine, Fulham fans weren’t best pleased with this.
Indeed, somewhat ironically, this announcement comes just one day after Fulham had a goal disallowed in these exact circumstances after Josh Maja’s strike against Tottenham was ruled out due to an inadvertent handball by Mario Lemina.
Of course, that decision cost Fulham a point, and come the end of the season this could end up costing the Whites their place in the Premier League.
Usually, outrage at refereeing decisions is a bit over the top and fans take things too far, but we have to admit, Fulham fans have every right to be outraged by this.
To make matters even worse, Fulham’s game against Spurs wasn’t even supposed to be played this week, and if it had taken place at a later date, the goal would probably have stood after this rule change.
Here’s what the Craven Cottage faithful have been saying on social media…
That’s a comforting thought. We’re one loss closer to relegation but at least they timed the rule change announcement to perfection https://t.co/dnucyaiFeD

What a farce. We (Fulham) lose a point because of this. What if Newcastle get a point in their favour over us as a result of this change? They have a game in hand on us too.
