‘They believed’: Championship club reportedly thought they could prise key man away from Fulham

Speaking on talkSPORT, journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Bournemouth thought they could prise Scott Parker away from Fulham after sacking Jason Tindall.

Tindall was sacked earlier this month after a poor run of results, and the Cherries were seemingly keen on landing Parker as his replacement.

“When they got rid of Jason Tindall, they believed they could get Scott Parker out of Fulham,” Crook said.

“Now clearly Fulham have gone on a good run, that hasn’t happened.

“It could be revisited if Fulham go down, I wouldn’t completely rule that out.”

Bournemouth have some cheek thinking they can take a manager away from the Premier League.

The south-coast outfit aren’t of the same stature of Fulham by any stretch, so why they thought they could nab Parker is a mystery.

In any case, Fulham managed to keep hold of their gaffer, and that may be the most important thing they do this season.

Indeed, all of the players speak very highly of Parker at Craven Cottage, and seven points from the last nine available shows that they’re still playing for him, even if they’re in the relegation zone.

Bournemouth’s interest could be revisited if Fulham go down Crook says, but one would imagine that depends on the ex-Whites captain being sacked if he fails to keep them afloat.

Fingers crossed Parker manages to steer Fulham clear of relegation and Bournemouth’s interest wanes.
