SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
Fulham didn’t get the result they wanted, or deserved, against West Brom on Saturday, but some fans did find a positive in the shape of Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Serbian started his first league game of 2021 against the Baggies and it didn’t take long for him to make an impact upon his return.
Indeed, within 10 minutes of the game starting the striker had assisted a goal, and if it weren’t for Bobby Decordova-Reid hitting the post later in that half, he would have had a second assist.
Unfortunately, the Serbia international didn’t manage to end his lengthy goal drought, but he did get into some good positions and he was looking more threatening than he has done lately.
Whether or not this leads to a run of starts for Mitrovic remains to be seen, after all, the man who has been playing in his position, Ivan Cavaleiro, did come off of the bench to score today, so Scott Parker does have a decision to make there.
Regardless of whether or not he starts the next game, fans were certainly glad to see him back for this one, and they were very impressed by what they saw from last season’s Championship Golden Boot winner.
Here’s what the Craven Cottage faithful have been saying on social media…
Mitro had a great game today as holding up striker just need the crosses to be better #ffc

We play better in yellow 🤣 Mitro so pivotal, creating chances and great to see him so up for it. I hope we don’t pay for the missed chances though…. #coyw #ffc #wbaful
