According to a report by Le10 Sport, Fulham are interested in signing Senegalese striker Boulaye Dia from Reims.

Dia has been in the form of his life this season, netting 12 goals in Ligue 1 so far, which is as many as Kylian Mbappe has managed this term.

If you’ve watched Fulham in recent weeks, you’ll know that the one thing they need more than anything is a player to put the ball in the back of the net, and after Ivan Cavaleiro missed two golden opportunities against Chelsea on Saturday, it seems as though Tony Khan has decided it’s time to act.

Dia burst onto the scene this season with a purple patch in Ligue 1, and he also looks as though he may solve another of Fulham’s big problems.

Indeed, the Senegal international looks to be a prolific penalty taker, netting five out of five efforts this season, in comparison, the Whites have missed three of their four efforts this term.

So, what type of player is Dia?

Well as his goal record this season suggests, he is a clinical finisher, and a profile about him on Ligue 1 described him as a ‘Senegalese goal machine’, while also talking about his prowess on both feet.

“Whether he plays through the middle or on the right-hand side of the attack, Dia loves playing on the shoulder of his marker, using his turn of pace to burst through on goal. He is utterly direct regardless of his starting position and is confident finishing with either foot once he gets one-on-one with an opposition goalkeeper,“ his profile says.

We can only hope that this description is accurate, as he sounds like exactly the type of player Fulham need.
